Australia’s first Esports High Performance Centre has been launched at the Sydney Cricket Ground, providing a new home for League of Legends Oceania champions the LG Dire Wolves and female development team Supa-Stellar.
The men’s and mixed gender Esports outfits will be embedded alongside to the SCG Trust’s traditional sports partners including the Sydney Swans, Sydney Sixers, Sydney Roosters, Sydney FC, Cricket NSW, Rugby Australia, AFL NSW, NRL and the NSW Waratahs.
The facility has been established to foster a new age of athletes in the Esports arena, driving growth and development from the grassroots level to the professional stage.
The centre has access to the latest technology and sport science including eye tracking technology and performance analysis thanks to a revolutionary partnership with the University of Technology, Sydney.
This is great news for esports in Australia – well done, Dave Harris, LG Dire Wolves, Supa-Stellar & the Sydney Cricket Ground Trust.
