I’m very happy to finally announce that I am working with Prof Jack Anderson to deliver Melbourne Law School’s Esports subject as part of their Sports Law Masters.
Starting 17 June 2019, students taking this first of its kind course in Australia can expect: 1 whole week of me, Prof Anderson, me, esports, me, the law, me, special esports-related guests, & me!
But don’t let me put you off 😉
While very sports-like in its competition, tournaments, tours, championships, leagues, teams, players, strategy, team work, games, physical skill, reactions, contracts, media rights, sponsorships, fans, fan engagement, and prize money (actually, esports can be far more lucrative), esports is its own unique thing, with its own growing and distinct legal issues.
Students who successfully complete this course will be able to better address these issues and be skilled-up to best advise clients in the esports scene.
If all of that isn’t enticing enough, you also get to spend a chunk of winter in esports’ 2nd home in Australia; Melbourne.
More information, including how to enrol, to follow.
